I decided early on to go it alone and to never be limited by my current abilities, so with that in mind, I set about teaching myself to play piano, sequence music, program drums and to compose the kind of music that I would like to listen to. The type of music which surrounds you and demands your full attention. A type of music which bursts with harmonies, rich textures and new sounds.
My music has been influenced by the passion of Tori Amos, the trip-hop of Massive Attack, the ingenuity of Bjork and the lyrics of Joni Mitchell. My songs take their melodies from singer songwriter music and combine this with the power of dance music; the five part harmonies are driven home by the programmed drums and sequencers.
I have been venting my emotions through my voice at the piano for as long as I can remember. My degree in music taught me the recording and sequencing skills I needed and pushed me to compose in new innovative styles.
